Dr. Nicholson originally started at RRVH in 2003 as a technician, then later decided to go to the University of Minnesota to pursue her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 2010 she returned to RRVH as a DVM! Dr. Nicholson is devoted to helping pets live healthier, happier lives! Her favorite part of the job is the people, both staff and clients. She provides care for animals but feels she couldn’t do it if there wasn’t a person attached to the animals. Dr. N’s special interests include surgery and client education! In her free time, Dr. Nicholson loves horse camping and raised bed gardening! She has LOTS of animals that include three dogs; Tucker the Blue Heeler, Mac the 3-legged 7/8 Blue Heeler who she rescued from an after-hours emergency, and Graycee the ½ Blue Heeler; one cat that no one ever sees, 7 horses and many cows! Bottle babies are considered pets in her book! Dr. Nicholsons favorite animal happens to be her 3-legged rescue, Mac- he is her true heart dog and the therapy dog she didn’t know she needed. Her favorite thing about RRVH is our staff as they are friends to the core and what keeps her sane, or insane depending on the day! A fun fact about Dr. N is that she worked as an LPN for almost 20 years before changing her career path to Vet Med!
